Hello everyone! I have always been an avid amateur photog and have been on a macro photography kick for the last year or so. Unfortunately I only have a few point and shoots at the moment, but am saving up for a good SLR.
Anyways, I just discovered this site tonight while browsing a Wiki on macro photography and I must say this is a really cool site! I love shooting nature, especially plants and flowers. You have some awesome insect photos outiv!

Hi Giya, Welcome and apologies for the late response! I'd love to see some of your work. I was using point and shoot for a while and still had fun taking macros but you will feel the difference when moving to SLR ;p
be happy :)

Welcome to the club . You may actually find that a compact does better at macro with closer focussing ability and larger depth of field . But an SLR is really great for everything else , as well as macro if you have the money for lenses [ maybe even a screw on adapter ] .
